Nokia 6 (2018) Smartphone Review: An Impressive Features Enriched Flagship

Back in 2017, Nokia released its Nokia 6 which was rather underwhelming. The phone didn’t quite stack up next to offer from competitors such as Xiaomi, Huawei, and Oppo. Therefore, Nokia launched the 2018 version of Nokia 6 named as Nokia 6 (2018) in Australia with much-improved features such as impressive design, gorgeous display, and long-lasting battery.

So, if you are confused about buying new Nokia 6 (2018), this is our in-depth review that will help you make up your mind smartly.

Display

The display of Nokia 6 is yet another thing which is pretty impressive. The phone sports a gorgeous 5.5-inches IPS LCD which is well-supported by 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The display is sharp with good colour reproduction, brightness and sunlight accuracy. The viewing angles are great and the contrast ratio is also very good.

Design and Build Quality

When taking Nokia 6 out of the box, you would be amazed how well built this phone feels in the hand. The phone is made of a solid block of Aluminum and it shows. However, it’s sturdy, well-built and feels solid, but power and volume buttons are placed weirdly. There is not tactile enough and you will find yourself pressing way too hard on them on a number of occasions. The fingerprint scanner is positioned awkwardly as well.

Camera

Alright! Let’s face it. The camera on new Nokia 6 is just plain bad. There is no other way to put it. It is disappointing, not okay-ish, and not half-decent – it’s just bad. On paper, Nokia 6 is equipped with a 1MP rear sensors vertically positioned along with an LED flash and on the front side, there is an 8MP sensor enables you to take selfies with your near and dear.
Talking about its performance, there’s a noise and cannot capture enough light and details. The Nokia 6 also lacks some features such as OIS, Face Detection, Auto HDR, Panorama and Phase Detection.

Performance

The Nokia 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 630 of chipset coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of onboard memory. The Adreno 508 GPU handles graphical department. To be honest, it’s far behind the Redmi Note 5 Pro, especially if you factor in the price.

Despite the performance is butter smooth and doesn’t show a sign of lag whether you play graphic enriched games or work on multiple tasks.

The onboard storage is expandable further up to 256GB via microSD card.
The Nokia 6 2018 Price in Australia starts from AU$250 to AU$300 for its 32GB variant, whereas 64GB variant costs AU$350 to AU$420.

Battery

The Nokia 6 is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery which is, on paper, looks a tad bit small for a phone with a 5.5-inches LCD display. However, it keeps you online all day long for both casual use but doesn’t deliver more than that with an extensive use.
