Is Lenovo ZUK Edge Mobile Phone is a Right Choice to Buy?
Finally, the rumors have become
real and now it is official. ZUK, the subsidiary of Lenovo, welcomes its
catalog to the new ZUK Edge. The phone was released in Australia at New Year on
January 1st. It comes with a wide list of dazzling specifications, but the
screen is perhaps the heavy weight of the smartphone in terms of design.
Without giving up the Lenovo ZUK Edge Mobile Phone
prices, it again bets on integrating high-quality components. Let’s
have a look at all the news that brings the new ZUK Edge.
Camera
A camera bets on Samsung’s
ISOCELL sensor technology as it goes up to 13MP with f/2.2 aperture. It comes
with a hybrid approach that combines phase and contrast detection and has some
exciting features such as PDAF + CAF, 5-element lens and LED flash. On the
other hand, in the upper frame is the 8MP front camera which works quite well.
Though the video recording capabilities weren’t detailed but it is safe to
assume that it records video at 4K.
Design
The Lenovo ZUK Edge64GB Mobile Phones are equipped with an 86.4% screen-to-body ratio
and has an impressive design especially for small company. It seems that minimizing
bezels are quite trendy nowadays, though, the screen-to-body ratio isn’t much
higher, still good than most smartphones available today. Moreover, the phone
has an aluminum structure that surrounds the body. Whereas in the back and
front, the crystal is the material chosen to give a premium factor to this
device of great wingspan. As compared to the Samsung’s edge variants, the ZUK
Edge doesn’t have curved glass, but you can find a 2.50 piece of glass on the
front.
Battery
Lenovo has been continuously
cutting down on the battery after releasing the Lenovo ZUK Z1 with a 4000mAh
battery. The ZUK Z2 was released with a 3500mAh battery whereas the new ZUK
Edge features a 3100mAh battery. Cutting down on the batteries don’t make sense
as ZUK Z1 was well received due to its long-lasting battery life. But
interestingly, it comes with Quick Charge 3.0 that helps you get rid of trouble
charging up the phone at a moment’s notice.
Availability and Price
Though ZUK is a subsidiary of
Lenovo which operates offices in China only. And the launch of its new ZUK Edge
is quite limited to the Asian countries. It doesn’t mean that they didn’t
launch it on the rest of the world. The ZUK has been launched in Australia
gladly and Lenovo ZUK Edge Mobile Phones prices in Australia
are relatively less as compared to the other smartphone devices having the same
specification. The Lenovo ZUK Edge is priced $350 in Australia.
Hardware
In terms of hardware, ZUK Edge again entrusts
its processor in the silicon Qualcomm just to give a better life to his last
smartphone. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 821 chip (Quad-Core at
2.35GHz) which is accompanied by the Adreno 530 GPU. Moreover, the phone comes in two variants in
terms of RAM – 4GB and 6GB. But 64GB of onboard memory is one of the major
drawbacks as it is not possible to expand the capacity using a removable
microSD card.
